Proud moment for GIS

Three NCC Cadets of Gaurs International School Nischal Chauhan, Dhairya Sharma and Tisya Dhaka has been selected for one of the prestigious camp of NCC, Republic Day Camp (RDC), 2024.

They will be representing the state of Uttar Pradesh in the 75th Republic Day Parade on 26th January 2024 at KARTAVYA PATH, New Delhi. Congratulations to all the proud students.

The objective of NCC is to develop discipline, character, brotherhood, spirit of adventure and the concept of selfless service amongst the young citizens. Not only this, it also aims to inculcate leadership qualities in the youth and ensure that whatever career they choose, they serve the nation!

We started NCC in the year 2017 with Vahini 31 UP Girls Battalion Greater Noida and 60 cadets. NCC for Boys was started in 2021 with Vahini 40 UP Battalion Secunderabad and 50 cadets. The main motive of introducing NCC in our school is to create leadership qualities, develop mental strength and to bring confidence and enhance willpower through the following

verbal and drill examination has to be cleared. After clearing the Examination, a certificate is awarded to the cadet. Once certified the cadet is given priority for selection in the Army, Air Force, Navy, Paramilitary forces and other government services.

Year 2019-20, 20-21 Online Activities of our NCC Cadets Our NCC cadets participated in various online activities which included Covid awareness campaign, anti-doping agency workshop, National Yoga Day celebrations, social safety and health information, environment day, mask and sanitizer distribution service, road safety campaign, Green India, Swachh Bharat awareness campaign, Indian vaccination awareness campaign year 2022.

BENEFITS OF NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)

  • In NCC, the students are given the basic education for a high level army training, which helps them understand whether they are suitable for a future career with the Army. They are also taught many things like paragliding, disaster management and first aid, which are useful in emergency situations.
  • Discipline and self-reliance which are required in every sphere of life are taught to the Cadets in NCC
  • The NCC cadets get an opportunity to enjoy camping, to visit different places and also enjoy mountain trekking and sky diving
  • NCC comprises of students from different states of India, so that they get an opportunity to learn about different festivals, traditions and languages.

Educational Benefits of NCC

Many college entrance exam seats are reserved for NCC cadets. They are given special relaxation in school and college attendance for attending NCC camps. Scholarships are also provided to NCC cadets based on merit like Sahara Scholarship, Best Cadet Scholarship etc. Special scholarships are also provided to NCC cadets after 12th for professional courses like engineering, medical, or hotel management etc., in colleges recognized by UGC.

Benefits in Army

  • Special reservation is provided to NCC certificate holders in Army recruitment.
  • NCC cadets get bonus 10-15 marks in all Army entrance examinations.

    • Benefits in Navy

    NCC (Naval Wing) cadets are given special reservation for all vacancies /posts in the Navy. NCC certificate holders get bonus 6-10 marks for all Navy vacancies like Sailors, Airmen etc.

    Benefits in Air Force

    In all Air Force vacancies, 10 percent seats are reserved for NCC (Air Wing) candidates and they get bonus 5 marks in the examinations.

    NCC Benefits in UPSC and NDA

    The certificate holders do not have to appear for the written exam, and they are selected directly for the interview process.

NCC Benefits in Vacancies for Government Jobs

    NCC is a boon for those aspiring for a government job. Based on the duration of training, and after fulfilling certain other conditions, NCC provides three types of certificates.

    Special relaxation is given to NCC certificate holders in NDA and CDS SSB examinations conducted by UPSC.

    Preference is given to the holders of NCC Certificates during the selection process in Government Security Agencies

    NCC certificate holders get 10 bonus marks in SSC CPO exam, 6 marks for 'B' NCC certificate and another 4 marks for 'A' NCC certificate'.

    Special reservation is provided to NCC cadets in all vacancies with Indian Railways.

    NCC Certificate holders get bonus 10 marks in the examination for all vacancies of BSF, CRPF, CIF (Paramilitary Services )
